TRIP PLANNING

Here you will find:

Where to buy plane tickets

  • Direct flights from Prague, Košice and Vienna to Tirana are operated by the following companies: Ryanair, Smartwings and Wizz Air Malta.
  • You can buy tickets directly from these airlines, or use some flight comparison websites that will help you choose the cheapest option:
  • Our recommendation: Look for one-way tickets both ways, they often come out cheaper.
  • ATTENTION: for travel to Albania, you need a travel PASSPORT! An ID card is not enough.

Luggage (surcharges and what to bring)

  • Surcharges for luggage in one direction are as follows:
    • Small hand luggage with dimensions up to 40x30x20 is free (backpack or handbag that you place under the seat in front of you)
    • Hand luggage up to 10 kg ranges from €5 to €60 / luggage (bag/suitcase that is placed in the overhead compartment). Some companies require the purchase of priority boarding for this type of luggage.
    • Checked suitcase up to 20 kg ranges from €20 to €60 / luggage.
  • Buying luggage at the airport is always more expensive and the price can go up to €100 / luggage.

  • What luggage do you need and what to (not) pack?
    • That’s up to you, but we recommend not packing too heavily.
    • You can buy most hygiene products on site. It is cheaper in Albania than in our country.
    • Don’t bring any food at all, you won’t need it.
    • If you don’t need too many clothes, hand luggage up to 10 kg or one checked suitcase for 2 and backpacks are enough.
    • You can put liquids in 100ml bottles and a total volume of maximum 1 liter in your hand luggage.
    • Beware of scissors, knives and other dangerous items that will be confiscated at the airport. More information can be found HERE.

Travel insurance

  • Before you arrange insurance separately, first try to find out if you already have it. Some banks include it automatically with payment cards.
  • If you already have insurance, check if it also covers cancellation of flights, accommodation or car rental. It comes in handy and saves you money.
  • If you don’t have insurance, you can easily arrange it online, for example via epojisteni.cztop-pojisteni.cz, or directly from insurance companies such as Allianz or Direct.

Local currency, payment and indicative prices

  • The official currency is LEK | 1 LEK is approximately 0.25 CZK (1 CZK = 3.98 LEK) (you can find the current exchange rate HERE.)
  • Payment in Euros: Euros are accepted almost everywhere, so you don’t have to exchange money right away. Just keep in mind that the exchange rate will not be ideal. They usually count 100 LEK = 1 € (the exchange rate is 98 LEK per 1 €)
  • ATMs and card payments: You can find ATMs without any problems and you can easily withdraw LEKs on the spot. When withdrawing and paying by card, always choose payment in the local currency, i.e. in LEK. If you choose CZK, you will get a worse exchange rate.

Average prices of top items (the conversion will vary according to the current exchange rate)

    • Food
      • Burek 100 LEK (25 CZK)
      • Greek salad 250 LEK (60 CZK)
      • Pizza 500 LEK (120 CZK)
      • Spaghetti 400 LEK (96 CZK)
      • Goulash 350 LEK (84 CZK)
      • Soup 300 LEK (72 CZK)
      • Seafood and fish approx. 1000 LE

BEFORE ARRIVAL

Below you will find the following information:

Payment for stay and cleaning

  • Payment for the apartment reservation is made at the time of booking, via QR code or to account no.: 1507488054/3030
  • We want you to arrive in a clean and pleasant environment, so we ensure a complete cleaning of the apartment before your arrival. After your departure, only a quick check takes place, no further cleaning is charged. The cleaning fee is CZK 900 – it is paid once for the entire stay and is already included in the total price.

Guest identification

  • Before arrival, please send us a photo of your passport or ID card – one person is enough. Also include an e-mail and telephone number so that we can easily contact you if necessary.

Refundable deposit

  • Before arrival, it is necessary to pay a refundable deposit of CZK 2,500, which is payable 3 days before arrival to the account number (1507488054/3030). After your departure, we will check everything and if the apartment is in order, we will return the deposit to your account within 7 days of departure. If something unexpected does happen, we will always contact you first and agree on the next steps together.

Cancellation policy

  • The reservation is non-refundable, but if you let us know in advance, we will be happy to move your stay to another date. If the apartment is available, it is not a problem. We will do our best to accommodate you. Just please note that if there is a flight change, we cannot guarantee that the date can be adjusted.

Apartment address

  • The apartment is located here: Bulevardi i Pishave, Kavajë, Albania (MAP)
  • The entrance to the house is from the back, i.e. from the parking lot, which is behind the barrier and behind the house (MAP) – first door on the left

Check-in

  • Arrival is normally possible from 3:00 p.m. If the apartment is ready, you can arrive earlier. Ask about this option. This option is not available during the main season.

Apartment keys

  • Our apartment has a smart lock (controlled via the Smartlock mobile application). You will receive an invitation to download the door control application after paying the reservation, sending your ID/ID and refundable deposit. The remote control from the barrier to the parking lot is in the apartment on a hanger right next to the door. Don’t forget to return it when you leave!
  • One invitation to the application = one access. If you want to have access to the apartment for more people, send us e-mail addresses / telephone numbers where we can send additional invitations. Invitations cannot be forwarded, everyone really needs to have their own unique one.

Staying with a pet

  • Pets are welcome, but please do not let them go on the couch or bed.
  • In Albania, dogs are usually allowed on beaches, especially outside the main season or in less busy places. Entry may be restricted in tourist areas, so it is better to choose remote beaches and always follow local rules. Keep the dog on a leash and pick up its excrement.
  • The pet fee is CZK 300 / night.

Baby cot and equipment for children

  • Are you coming with a small child? We will be happy to prepare a baby cot for you. Just let us know at least 7 days before arrival.
  • The cot fee is CZK 500 / stay.

Parking

  • Parking is free right next to the house, behind the barrier. The remote control from the barrier to the parking lot is in the apartment on a hanger right next to the door.

Airport transfer

DURING YOUR STAY

Here you will find out:

Where to put the garbage

  • Waste management is developing in Albania. Waste sorting is therefore not yet a topic, but it is advisable to separate at least plastics, metals, and the rest of the waste (plastics and metals are collected by private companies and waste collectors for further processing).
  • Please take the garbage from the apartment to the garbage container 200 meters away.

Sea, beaches and other activities in the vicinity

  • The sea here is simply perfect. For families with children, for people who like sand and waves! Building castles, sand animals, searching for shells, bodyboarding, jumping over waves…
  • The beach recedes into the sea very gradually, children are not in danger of losing contact with the bottom soon. For swimmers, this means walking a bit further, but on the other hand, they have a long swimming lane because boats simply cannot get to the shore.

  • The sea near our apartment
    • You can look directly at the sea from the terrace. To get to it, you have to go either through the hotel parking lot in front of us (closed out of season), through the local pub or a little further along the path between the pine trees.
    • Some sections of the beach pretend to be private hotel beaches. But that is not the case. The beach is freely accessible to everyone. On the contrary, it is possible to arrange at the hotel and rent a sunbed for a fee. You can also connect to their WiFi – just order a coffee there and ask for the password.
    • If you want to wash your feet on the way from the sea, use the showers at the design hotel Epidamn.

  • Fun for children and the whole family
    • When you go to the sea along the path between the pine trees, you will come across a bumper car track and an outdoor playroom, where you will find, for example, air hockey and similar machines.
      • Games cost literally a few crowns (bumper cars 50 CZK for about 15 minutes, the rest 25 CZK).
      • The attraction is run by a very nice local older gentleman. He will give you change if you need it.
    • When it’s windy and the beach isn’t full of umbrellas, flying kites is a great experience. You can buy one from the local mobile vendors.

  • Change of beach
    • If you don’t enjoy being on just one beach for your entire stay, you have plenty of options, which you can find in the Guide to Albanian Beaches. We recommend Spille Beach, which doesn’t have much construction nearby, locals go there and people tend to camp there. It’s a 40-minute drive and you can visit the town of Kavaje on the way.

  • Aquapark
    • In the Mali i Robit district, 3.5 km from our apartment is an aquapark. We haven’t explored it yet and there isn’t much information on the web. However, reviews suggest a classic “Balkan style”, so it will be a trip more for the hardy. If you decide to visit, let us know how you liked it! According to the video, it looks great.

Reviews

Dear guests, reviews are crucial for us. Firstly, your rating lets other guests know what to expect, and at the same time, it gives us feedback. We take your opinion seriously, every compliment warms us and motivates us to further improve the entire property, every constructive criticism moves us towards perfection. We honestly read and address every review.

However, we want to ask you – please submit your rating thoughtfully. Every point you don’t give us lowers the overall rating and can cause us quite a bit of trouble. If you were satisfied, don’t be afraid to give the full number of points. You are not comparing accommodations, you are evaluating the current experience. Sure, sometimes you might find something somewhere that might be better. But this “maybe” that prevents you from giving full points doesn’t actually reflect reality. You won’t go back to the review to edit it after you have other experiences elsewhere. 🙂

If you feel like giving us a review, please do so on Google Maps or Mapy.cz.
